Feline Update: Promotions

In honor of Eli coming home for the holidays this afternoon, I have decided to start what should become a regular series of posts. She is a cat person from a cat family, and like any other cat person she goes to pieces at the sight of any cute cat (which ultimately remind her of her own cats). So I will retain her love not by getting a cat myself, and not by giving her a cat to keep her company at school. No, I will leverage my lazyweb mindset and simply post pictures of other people’s cats.

So going forward there should be a new cat each week, so buckle up, grab your allergy medications, and enjoy Feline Update

NPR: There Is No God by Penn Jillette

Penn Jillette
Penn Jillette by Nubar Alexanian

The talkative side of Penn & Teller has posted his NPR essay entitled: There Is No God. He has struck the nail on the head for those of us who try and articulate why faith can feel unnecessary.

Reading the transcript is one thing, but you should really do yourself the favor and listen to him read it.

Congress votes database

Please enjoy the new Congress votes database, courtesy of the Washington Post. The dbase allows quick and legible access to voting decisions based on the bill (H RES 479) or by Congressman (Barbara Boxer). Plus, all of these data points can be syndicated using RSS.

Thanks Washington Post. Apparently you have some particularly geeky people on your staff, and you’ve aimed them at a goal that doesn’t involve further bullshit registration in order to attain useful information. Instead, we the public can now track our allies and enemies with the greatest of ease.
