Stanford Links Day Two

X-Wing in Times Square! Totally rad-I want one for my upcoming hanger home. Park it right between to the DeLorean and Kaneda’s motorcycle.

Get RSS/Atom feeds of Flickr photos. This sort of thing is why Flickr will rule the world for a while yet.

David Byrne’s Internet Radio. Totally sweet when the guy who sings “Psycho Killer” starts broadcasting his favorite tunes.

The French Paradox. Answering truely tough questions like, “How can hot French women live off of bread and cheese?”

FREITAG Apple portable cases. One of these might become second fiddle to my existing (and totally sweet) carrying case.

Bubb 8 Links: Day Nine

Godlike

NP&CO. presents Godlike. Immaculate lithograph from a brilliant Chicago artist by the name of Chuck Anderson. Truly beautiful.

Home-installed RFID chip. Wow…never thought I’d see someone this concerned with losing their keys.

Bobby Fischer granted Icelandic citizenship. I cannot get over how old Bobby Fischer is! This is one of the most ridiculous stories our government has produced lately, and that’s saying something.

Apple products of nevermore. The Pentagram firm seems to have some good ideas, but for all the beauty in their designs, they’re a bit cluttered.

Jumper by Steven Gould. Sounds like a good book that I’d want to hide inside of a copy of The Economist.

Visual Thesaurus. I’ve played with this almost once a week but haven’t managed to share it with anyone. it’s a super-cool tool, and I really like the choice of web-based subscription or a desktop app.

Intro of the NeXT computer. I went to pick one of these bad boys up this past weekend from an old NeXT employee who gifted it to my dad (third from the left). Other NeXT photos.

Photos of receding glaciers. Site this to those who tell you that global warming is bollocks.

Bubb 8 Links: Day Eight

Busy day today. We took apart a lot of crap, and the links have suffered but I don’t care.

New NIN single “The Hand That Feeds.” The video listed under 3_17_05 looks better for it’s compression glitches. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the record.

Fantastic video game-esque map of London. This sort of thing should be animated.

Skin data transfer. This sort of thing would revolutionize sex.

Blokus. The most addictive online game I’ve found. A combination of Tetris and Go.

Imaginary Foundation online store. Some gorgeous t-shirts, with a bit of Monty Python inspiration.

Bubb 8 Links: Day Seven

Neuromancer BBC radio play. Neuromancer audio torrent. I haven’t downloaded this yet, but I’m all about it. Anyone who hasn’t read Gibson would do well to pick up either this book or Burning Chrome. Anyone who has should agree with me that the reason Gibson’s stories don’t get made into movies anymore is Kee-new Ree-vez.

Missing Fiona Apple record thriving underground. Apparently it’s brilliant but Sony doesn’t feel like releasing it. This sort of thing makes me wish Apple/Amazon would provide the resources for artists to publish independently.

35th Anniversary Adidas Superstars. The Ian Brown editions…I’d be in there like swim-wear except, “my portfolio is mostly tied up in food and shelter.”

Hogzilla! The biggest boar you’ve ever seen, and therefore the best hillbilly meal ever.

Shanghai’s maglev train. Fasted train in the world; thing needs 7 miles to come down from 220 mph.

Recreating Strangelove with household crap. The most amazing part of this project is how frighteningly similar the recreations are. It takes a minute to notice what’s different.

The Guns n’ Roses album that never was. Some might hate me for this, but I’m glad it never happened. There’s no way it would approach Use Your Illusion, much less Appetite.
